Lori Lickstein, MSW, LCSW-C is a licensed clinical social worker, Doctoral Student at the University of Pennsylvania, Maryland social work board approved clinical supervisor in private practice in Hunt Valley, Maryland. She brings years of clinical experience and specialized training with the goal of helping each client discover their sense of purpose and hope with a sound mind, body and spirit. Lori is focused on healing and transforming the lives of clients with authentic and meaningful connection through personalized and empathic relational interaction. Lori enjoyed serving 5 years as a board member of the Baltimore Child Abuse Center, is trained through the Ferentz Institute and Evergreen as a Certified Trauma Specialist, IVAT (Institute on Violence Abuse and Trauma) and AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts), and yearly conferences and trainings. Lori is a volunteer as a lead on a subcommittee for the Maryland Equitable Justice Collaborative for behavioral health and is co leading a pilot program providing pro bono mental health treatment for two Maryland jails. She provides pro bono trauma trainings for the public defenders office in Baltimore City and the Maryland Bar Association lawyers.
Lori’s extensive work experience includes: John’s Hopkins Child Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital, Sheppard Pratt Hospital, St. Vincent’s Villa, the Mayor’s Office on Criminal Justice, University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, adult residential centers and her private practice, Untangled Roads, LLC. Her life’s work is guided by a core of compassion, empathy, and learning with hope as an instrument of transformation. Lori believes that within trauma there is an anchor of hope to hold and guide you as a beacon of healing.
Lori adores her three beloved sons, her beloved husband, and their adorable dog, Parky. Lori is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys spending downtime gardening, reading, cooking, biking, theatre and time with her family. Living for her family and doing what she can to help others while advocating for social justice is what she lives for and is her life’s work.
